University Lowbrow Astronomers Public Stargazing And Telescope Lending Program Launch For All Ages

On Friday, April 27th, from 8:30 to 10:00 at the Leslie Science Nature Center, you can experience a night of stargazing with the University Lowbrow Astronomers and staff members of the Ann Arbor District Library.

From the website:

Meet in the Nature House at Leslie Science Nature Center (1831 Traver Road) for this special event, co-sponsored by the University Lowbrow Astronomers and the Leslie Science Center, which features the launch of the Library’s new telescope lending program!

Library staff and the Lowbrow Astronomers will be on hand to discuss and demonstrate the seven Orion StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector telescopes (soon to be available for check-out at the Library) designed for entry level and intermediate astronomy enthusiasts. Then, try out the telescopes to view the night sky!  The Lowbrow Astronomers will bring several other telescopes to share for viewing.

The new telescope lending program is a partnership with the University Lowbrow Astronomers, a diverse group of around 90 local amateur astronomers, ranging from amateur telescope makers to professional rocket scientists.
